Special aspects

When Post & Telegraph officers travelled to various regions on official business, theyr would often have to send letters. Their postage would then be paid using the ST stamps. Hence there are a variety of place names which can becollected on the ST stamps - albeit in small numbers because of the scarcity of the stamps themselves.

Examples of the ST stamps with examples of their use are provided below:

red overprint - 2d vermillion and 6d ultramarine;
blue overprint - 2d vermillion;
black overprint - 2d vermillionand 6d ultramarine.
